My dog has taught me that it doesn’t matter where you have been or where you have come from; happiness and gratefulness is a choice. He has taught me that spending your day with those who love you, having a home to go home to, having a bowl of food waiting for you, having a warm bed to fall asleep in and having your health is really all you need; the rest of it is just extra gravy and no matter how much you fill the bowl it will never be enough.
