I am grateful for the moon, stars and sky.
I am grateful for the summer breeze and the sunshine.
I am grateful for the beauty of the flowers and the sweet smell of honeysuckle.
I am grateful for the coloured leaves of fall and the rain that nourishes the earth.
I am grateful for the majestic snow peaked mountains.
I am grateful for seeing the first robin of spring.
I am grateful for this day.

Being grateful while feeling grief stricken at the same time is impossible. If you find yourself waking up “on the wrong side of the bed” and overcome with negative emotions, begin your day by writing down five things you are grateful for. No matter how dark the moment there is always much to be thankful for and to remind oneself will ground you.
